أعلنت قيادة الجيش أنه "في إطار الاجراءات الأمنية التي تتخذها وحدات الجيش في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، وبنتيجة التعقّب، أوقفت مديرية المخابرات المطلوب علي راوي مظلوم، وهو أحد أهم رؤساء عصابات السرقة (منازل وسيارات) في بريتال وضواحيها، متلبّساً بجرم سرقة محتويات أحد منازل البلدة المذكورة، وبرفقته المدعو جعفر علي خير الدين، وضبطت بحوزتهما أسلحة وذخائر حربية.
وأثناء عملية التوقيف والاقتياد، تعرّضت الدورية لإطلاق نار لأكثر من مرة من قبل مجهولين، ما اضطر عناصرها إلى الردّ على مصادر النيران بالمثل من دون إصابة أحد. وقد أُحيل الموقوفان مع المضبوطات على المراجع المختصة، ويستمر العمل لتوقيف باقي المتورّطين
