The Lebanese Army arrested a man who had allegedly planned to carry out a kidnapping in Mount Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported Saturday.
The NNA said that the army arrested Hasanain Zeaiter on Wednesday Nov. 25 in Mount Lebanon’s Metn district for allegedly attempting to kidnap a pharmacist in the same region with the help of others.
The army foiled the kidnapping attempt after the group of suspects ran into an army unit in the area, according to the NNA.
The reason behind the attempted kidnapping is unknown.
The NNA said that Zeaiter is wanted on several arrest warrants for drug trafficking and firing weapons during celebrations.
