The Army arrested 23 Syrian nationals in east and north Lebanon, mostly for lacking identification papers, the military said in a statement. The statement said the suspects were detained by Army units in the Zahle district town of Taanayel and the village of Bhenin in the Minyeh-Dinnieh district in the north. The Army said “some” of the detainees were “suspected of belonging to terrorist organizations,” while others were arrested for illegally entering the country.
