Airport customs foil cocaine smuggling operation

Inspection members in the customs department at Rafic Hariri international airport thwarted a smuggling operation of 14 kg of cocaine via the airport, National News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The field reporter added that inspectors at the travelers' department at the airport customs found an amount of about 14 kg of viscous material of cocaine with the traveler (F.A.M) born in 1992 of Brazilian nationality, who arrived at the airport today dawn coming from Brazil via Abou Dhabi .

The reporter added that the smuggler was arrested at the airport upon a request of cassation prosecution in Mount Lebanon and was transferred to the Central Narcotics Bureau to carry on investigations with him.
