Ad-Diyar’s Editor-in-Chief Charles Ayoub was released after Mount Lebanon Attorney General Judge Ghada Aoun issued a warrant for his arrest in a case brought against him by a candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Ayoub was arrested on financial charges brought by businessman Sarkis Sarkis, who is running on a Free Patriotic Movement list for the Metn district.
Though he was released, Ayoub may still be called in for further questioning, the state-run National News Agency reported.
