NNA - Activists of the civil society, the "Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering" and human rights organizations staged on Wednesday a sit in in front of the Justice palace, to protest violence against women and the failure of officials at all levels to ensure women protection.
Demonstrators hoisted banners deploring violence practiced against women and calling for doing justice to them.
A statement by the "Lebanese Democratic Women Gathering" said that combating the phenomena of violence against women and young girls is a joint responsibility that necessitates the adoption of serious, firm measures and actions by the concerned institutions in protection of women.
