علنت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي شعبة العلاقات العامة أنه "وفي إطار مكافحة عمليات تهريب الأشخاص من سوريا إلى لبنان، ونتيجةً للتحريات والاستقصاءات المكثفة، تمكنت شعبة المعلومات في قوى الأمن الداخلي، من ضبط سيارة فان نوع "ميتسوبيشي" لون أبيض في بلدة الصويري البقاعية، على متنها 65 شخصاً من التابعية السورية، بينهم 11 طفلاّ بجرم دخول البلاد خلسة".

وفي بيان لها، لفتت المديرية الى أنه "تمكنت من توقيف كل من م. ر. (مواليد عام 1996، سوري)، و ع. م. (مواليد عام 1999، سوري) بجرم تهريب أشخاص، أما سائق الفان المدعو ط.ح. (مواليد 1995/لبناني) فقد لاذ بالفرار إلى جهة مجهولة لدى مشاهدته عناصر الدورية، تاركاً السيارة في مكانها".

وأشارت الى أنه "سلّم الموقوفون والآلية الى القطعة المعنية لإجراء المقتضى القانوني بحقّهم، والعمل جارٍ لتوقيف السائق".
