أعلنت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي في بيان أنه "بتاريخ 11/9/2018، ونتيجةً للمتابعة ومكافحة أعمال تهريب الأشخاص من الأراضي السورية الى لبنان، تمكنت شعبة المعلومات في قوى الأمن الداخلي، من توقيف 18 شخصاً من الجنسية السورية بجرم دخول البلاد خلسة، وذلك في بلدة بر الياس البقاعية، على متن سيارة فان نوع "سانغ يونغ" لون أبيض بقيادة ع. ط. (مواليد عام 1980، لبناني). كما أوقفت الشعبة المذكورة، وبالتنسيق مع عناصر حاجز ضهر البيدر، 13 شخصاً سورياً بالجرم ذاته، وذلك على متن سيارة فان نوع "سانغ يونغ" لون زيتي بقيادة م. ن. مواليد عام 1982، لبناني.
