The arrests were made in south Lebanon’s Tyre following an appeal for information by Internal Security Forces regarding the case last Wednesday.

The statement identified the suspects as two Lebanese brothers M.A. and A.A. and Syrian national Bashir H. They stand accused of impersonating state security to commit theft and robbery and of assaulting several Syrian nationals in the Tyre town of Bass.

The men reportedly wore State Security uniforms and set up fake checkpoints in order to rob unsuspecting victims in Aley’s Choueifat, especially targeting Syrians, according to the statement..
