December 21, 1983: On Damascus Road, near the Faculty of Medicine, in Beirut, 15 civilians were killed and 85 injured by a bomb placed in a truck parked close to French paratroopers. Five minutes later, another bomb in Hamra, West Beirut, exploded inside the Marble Tower Hotel, killing one person and injuring four.
