NSSF employees strike over austerity measures
Employees at the National Social Security Fund held a strike Monday to protest a measure in the 2019 draft budget that if passed would reduce their salaries, in the latest public-sector strike over austerity measures. NSSF “employees are here to make their voices heard to officials: We got used to serving this institution by the sweat of our brow. Today it seems they don’t want us to do that anymore,” an employee told reporters outside the NSSF's headquarters, in Beirut.
