The Internal Security Forces has arrested a suspected car thief near Arsal, the agency said in a statement released Friday.
The Information Branch had been investigating a series of car thefts in Mount Lebanon and Bekaa.
The patrol ordered the driver to stop several times, and eventually shot at the car, but the driver continued until he reached the town of Arsal, where he crashed the car and escaped on foot.
The stolen car was confiscated, and the man was later arrested. He was identified as Syrian national Y.E., born in 1966.
