The Lebanese Army arrested Tuesday a Syrian national suspected of belonging to a militant organization, a statement from the Army reported.

The man, identified as Hussein Mohammad Ammar al-Moqleb bil-Kashoush, was arrested for reportedly belonging to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham – the extremist group formerly known as the Nusra Front.

Kashoush was accused of spying on the Army and the Internal Security Forces in the northeastern town of Arsal. He is charged with fabricating films that are offensive to the Army, posting them on social media sites, and providing information and services to militants.

The Nusra Front and Daesh (ISIS) briefly overran Arsal in 2014. The militant groups kidnapped over 30 Army and police personnel upon their withdrawal.

The investigation was initiated under the supervision of the relevant court.

This security incident was mapped according to the closest possible location.
