لفتت المديرية العامة لقوى الامن الداخلي في بيان الى أنه "إنتشرت منذ أيام على أحد مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، صورة شخص مجهول الهوية يقوم بسرقة بطاقات تشريج بطريقة احتيالية من محال لبيع الأجهزة الخلوية في مناطق مختلفة من بيروت وجبل لبنان"، مشيرة الى أنه "نتيجة المتابعة الحثيثة تمكنت مفرزة استقصاء جبل لبنان في وحدة الدرك الاقليمي، من معرفة هوية ومكان تواجد الفاعل وتوقيفه في محلة برج البراجنة بتاريخ 17/08/2017 ، وهو: م . ح . ( مواليد عام 1981، سوري)".
