A Syrian national suspected of assaulting and robbing a resident of the Bekaa Valley town of Barr Elias has been arrested by the General Security in Zahle.
The suspect allegedly lured his victim into his apartment, whereupon he beat him on the head with a heavy object.
His accomplice and himself reportedly stole a sum of LL140,000 ($93) that the victim was carrying and fled to Syria.
The arrested Syrian national returned to Lebanon eight months after the alleged incident took place and was arrested.
