Retired military servicemen protested outside the TVA building to call for fair pensions, prompting security forces to bring reinforcements to the sit-in.
The crowd of retired military servicemen – who began their demonstration at 6:40 a.m. outside the TVA building in Corniche al-Nahr – surrounded the entrances to the building and prevented staff from entering their offices.
A broad deployment of the Internal Security Forces’ riot control elements, in addition to fire engines, was present at the scene.
