A Lebanese Army conscript was shot in the head in the eastern city of Baalbeck over previous disputes with a local family, a security source told The Daily Star. Mohammad al-Radi, from the eastern border town of Maaraboun, was fatally shot at night outside Layalina Cafe in Baalbeck, by members from al-Dandash family.

Radi was in his car with his brother Hisham when the shooting occured, the source said. Hisham sustained gunshot wounds to his feet and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The identities of the Dandash members who took part in the act remain unknown. The assailants used a handgun with a silencer to carry out their operation.
