Murder attempt on taxi driver by two Syrians in Blat
The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of two Syrians on charges of robbing and attempting to kill a taxi driver.
The taxi driver drove the two suspects to Blat, near the Lebanese American University in Jbeil on June 10.
They allegedly attacked him upon arrival. They choked him, beat him up and stole L.L 1,000,000 ($666.67) and his mobile phone.
Police apprehended the suspects in Mina, Tripoli, and Gemmayze, Beirut.
Upon questioning, 34-year-old F.A and 19-year-old Aa.H, both Syrian, confessed to the crime. F.A was found with the bloodied sweater he wore when the crime was committed, and Aa.H was in possession of the taxi driver’s phone.
They said that when they reached their destination, Aa.H choked the driver while F.A hit him. They threw him in a wooded area when they thought he was dead.
The driver was called in to identify the suspects, and they were referred to the judiciary for further investigation.
