Residents in Lebanon’s southern district of Nabatieh complained of the area’s frequent electricity cuts, despite the creation of a committee tasked with following up on the issue.
“At a time when electricity feed is increasing in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, electricity feed in our areas is decreasing, despite the fact that the electricity comes from the Tyre and Zahrani power plants,” the committee said in a statement carried by the state-run National News Agency.
The committee called the shortage “inexplicable,” adding that there isn’t a fair distribution of electricity between cities and other areas.
