State Security arrested three Syrian nationals who attempted to kidnap their compatriot Mohammad Saleh Ahmad near the Modern University for Business and Science campus in Lebanon’s southern city of Damour.

The three Syrian nationals were disguised as security officials in an attempt to kidnap Ahmad, managing to flee the scene in a stolen Kia.

However, security forces managed to free the man a short time later, arresting the suspects during the same operation.

Questioning revealed that the suspects had posed as State Security agents and physically assaulted Ahmad over a personal dispute.

They have been referred to the Mount Lebanon judiciary.
