Security agents seized nearly half a ton of hashish stashed inside soapboxes at Beirut Port, the Army announced. The military said that Army Intelligence had seized a shipping container in which 487.5 kilograms of hashish were hidden inside 1,639 soapboxes, disguised as soap bars. It remains unclear exactly where the drug was being exported to. “The container was handed over to Lebanese Customs. Investigations are still ongoing over the identity of the smugglers, who will be stopped and referred to the pertinent court,” the Army said in a statement.
