Two gas station workers wounded in shooting incident in south Lebanon
SIDON, Lebanon: Two men were injured in a shooting at a gas station in south Lebanon, a security source told The Daily Star.
The source said that the suspect identified as Rawad Sh. opened fire from a shotgun near Sidon’s technical school before fleeing the scene.
Rawad was allegedly filling his car's gas tank when he started cursing Syrian workers at the gas station.
The workers demanded Rawad to remain mum, the source said, prompting the suspect to leave the gas station then come back and open fire at the staff.
Two brothers, who work at the station, Mohammad and Ali Fayad Mahmoud, were injured.
Mohammad was admitted to a nearby public hospital, while Ali Fayad sustained minor wounds.
Fuel dispensers were also damaged in the incident.
Security forces arrived at the scene, took surveillance cameras footage and questioned witnesses.
