حصلت في الآونة الأخيرة عدة عمليات سرقة من قبل مجهول طالت محتويات من داخل سيارات بواسطة كسر زجاجها، في عدد من المناطق ضمن مدينة بيروت.

ونتيجة للاستقصاءات والتحريات والرصد، تمكنت بتاريخ 30/12/2016 دورية من مفرزة استقصاء بيروت في وحدة شرطة بيروت من توقيف الفاعل بالجرم المشهود وهو يقوم بكسر زجاج إحدى السيارات المركونة في محلة الكولا - سليم سلام، حيث حاول الفرار على متن سيارة نوع "نيسان ساني" لون رصاصي أنقاض، عليها لوحة مزورة، ما أضطر عناصر الدورية إلى إطلاق النار بإتجاه عجلات السيارة وتوقيفه، ويدعى: ح. ر. (مواليد عام 1980، لبناني) وبعد التحقيق معه اعترف بقيامه بالعديد من عمليات سرقة محتويات السيارات بواسطة كسر الزجاج.
