Army seizes arms and drugs during raid in Baalbeck

NNA - An army unit came under fire by gunmen as it was storming into wanted houses in the locality of Baalek's Wasaa; the matter that triggered the army to respond to fire sources and arrest two of the gunmen who got wounded, army command said in a communiqué on Monday. 

The two wounded gunmen were transferred to a local hospital for treatment. 

In the meantime, army forces continued to prosecute the remaining gunmen who managed to flee towards the locality's outskirts. The army arrested three of them. 

The army seized during the raid an amount of military rifles, grenades, ammunition and drugs, as well as a number of illegal cars. 

The arrested persons and the confiscated items were handed over to the concerned authorities.
