A fire ripped through a Syrian refugee camp in north Lebanon after a gas cylinder ignited, state media said Wednesday.
The National News Agency said five tents housing about 25 people burned down in the village of Tel Hmeira in the northern district of Akkar.
The fire erupted after a gas cylinder that was being used to heat a tent amid the freezing weather exploded.
The report said the refugees' belongings and their identity papers burnt up in the fire.
The refugees appealed to officials to help them find shelter.
