Snow blanketed large parts of Lebanon for a second day Saturday, blocking many vital roads and knocking out electricity and cell phone coverage to areas in the north.
Weather is expected to improve starting Saturday night as Storm Vladimir, which came from Russia, subsides off the eastern basin of the Mediterranean.
According to the the Meteorological Department at the Rafik Hariri International Airport, temperatures will start to rise overnight, with rain and strong winds set to intensify before easing Sunday.
Snowfall is expected to continue at altitudes of 1000 meters and above.
