A military navy patrol at dawn arrested a Lebanese boat smuggling 36 individuals to Turkey two miles off Tyre coast, a communiqué by the Lebanese army indicated on Friday.

Migrants included 14 Palestinians coming from Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, 21 Palestinians from Lebanon, and a Lebanese citizen, noting that the boat was made to fit for 10 people merely.

In a subsequent communiqué, the army indicated that its Intelligence managed to apprehend this morning in Sidon a smuggling ring of five people, involved in the illegal trip to Turkey.

Investigations are still underway.
