The Lebanese Army detained overnight a man involved in an armed dispute in the Bekaa village of Saadnayel, the military said in a statement issued Wednesday.
"A dispute between residents of Saadnayel escalated into a shooting using light weapons, unrest and encroaching of private property, which compelled the Army to intervene," the statement pointed out.
It said that an Army unit raided the residents of the shooters and detained Abdullah al-Kurdi, while the rest of the offenders were being pursued.
No casualties were reported, the statement added.
