Baalbek police arrested on Thursday Mayor Mohammed Ahmed Awada for shooting dead Ali Mohammed Youssef Awada a day earlier, the state-run National News Agency reported.
NNA said that the man opened fire on 24-year-old Awada and killed him near Dar al-Amal University Hospital in Douris on Wednesday night.
Awada was visiting his hospitalized brother Hussein, who was injured in the shoulder two days earlier in a dispute with the mayor's son Hussein Mohammed Ahmed Awada, the agency stated.
Investigation is underway to arrest the rest of the suspects in the two assaults, NNA added.
