On 18 May 15, As the governor of Baalbak Hermel was moving to partake in a seminar in the region, an anonymous X5, silver color, without plates, tried to intercept his vehicle but was surprised by a state security convoy accompanying the governor. The anonymous car tried to escape from security amidst a traffic jam by opening fire in the air.
