On 31 Jan 15, Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Orientation Directorate issued a statement that “on 30 Jan 15, at 2030hrs, an LAF patrol discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing four kilos next to Majdlaya-Qoubba highway. The patrol also found metal pieces next to the bomb which was set to explode by a timer. The patrol immediately cordoned off the area. A military expert detonated the IED at the scene due to the risk of moving it. An investigation was launched to uncover the identity of the culprits."
