Students at a public high school in Tripoli stage a sit-in in front of the school to demand accountability and prosecution of a teacher allegedly harassing female students and of the school principal who covered him
انتصرت اليوم طالبات وطلاب ثانوية جورج صراف في معركتهم ضدّ المتحرّش سامر مولوي وإدارة الثانوية التي غطّت على متحرّشها، إذ حضر مدير التعليم الثانوي في وزارة التربية إلى المدرسة ليبلغ الطلاب قرار وزير التربية عبّاس الحلبي تكليفَ مدير جديد للثانوية. يأتي ذلك بعد معركةٍ قادها الطلاب ضدّ المتحرّش والإدارة، أعلنوا من خلالها استمرارهم حتّى معاقبة سامر مولوي الذي أُوقف عن التدريس أوّل من أمس، وها هم اليوم ينجحون بالتخلّص من مدير الثانوية الذي تستّر على التحرّش.
Today, students of George Sarraf High School won a new battle against the teacher and sexual harasser Samer Mawlawi, and against the high school administration that offered him cover. The director of secondary education at the ministry has informed the students that the Education Minister Abbas Halabi will be assigning a new principal to the secondary school. The students had vowed to continue their battle against the sexual harasser and the administration, until Mawlawi is punished for his deeds. Mawlawi was suspended from teaching the day before yesterday, and today the students have succeeded in getting rid of the high school principal who covered the harassment.
