Protesters vandalize the front of several Banks in Hamra and are met with repressive measures front security forces

A number of protesters vandalizing banks in Hamra Thursday night were quickly dispersed after the Lebanese Army intervened. The protesters were seen running away as soldiers from the Army chased them down. Hamra Street has been a main scene of violence this week as protesters target banks to express their frustration with policies being carried out by local banks. After the Internal Security Forces personnel were strongly criticized for using excessive violence against protesters in previous days, the Army was seen intervening on Thursday night.

 

وطنية - افاد مندوب "الوكالة الوطنية للاعلام" ان محتجين يحطمون واجهات بعض المصارف في شارع الحمرا، كما اقدموا على طلي اجهزة الصرافة الآلية واحراق مستوعبات النفايات في وسط الشارع، وتتقدم الآن عناصر من الجيش باتجاههم .

ولاحقا افاد ان المحتجين انسحبوا الى منتصف شارع الحمرا والشوارع الفرعية ، فيما يعمل عناصر الجيش على ملاحقتهم .

وطنية - افاد مندوب "الوكالة الوطنية للاعلام" عن القاء قنبلة مولوتوف حارقة على واجهة مصرف فرانسبنك في اول شارع الحمرا، وان اعداد المتظاهرين تتزايد في المكان .
