برزت وقفة احتجاجية أمام "الخارجية" إثر مسيرة شعبية انطلقت من ساحة ساسين بدعوة من "مجموعات سيادية" رفضاً "للاحتلال الإيراني"، عبّر خلالها المتظاهرون عن رفضهم زيارة عبداللهيان إلى لبنان، معتبرين أنها "لا تأتي في السياق الديبلوماسي الطبيعي بين الدول بل هي بمثابة تمثيل لاحتلال نرفضه" وفق تعبير رئيس "حركة التغيير" المحامي إيلي محفوض، وطالب المحتجون على الزيارة في المقابل بتطبيق "القرار 1559 والقرارات الدولية الأخرى ونزع السلاح غير الشرعي"، منددين في الوقت عينه بـ"سلطة الخضوع" لمشروع تحويل الجمهورية اللبنانية إلى "دولة امتداد للنظام الإيراني".
