LU staff protests salary, pension injustices

Staff from Lebanon’s only public university Wednesday staged a protest to coincide with a strike demanding the implementation of the salary scale law and improvements to their pensions.
The protest was held in Beirut’s Riyad al-Solh Square, and coincided with a parliamentary session in neighboring Nijmeh Square - the first legislative session since Cabinet was formed, in January.
