Armenians in Lebanon protest outside the Azerbaijani embassy to demand an end to military attacks by Azerbaijan forces in a disputed border area
Tashnag Party organised a protest outside the Azerbaijani embassy, joining several other protests around the world. Protesters demanded an end to resurfaced military attacks by Azerbaijan forces in a disputed border area with Armenia and Artsakh. Armenians in Lebanon were met by security forces, and a scuffle broke out, as shown in a video from the protest and according to several protesters at the scene. Armenian diaspora also protested in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., calling for an end to US military assistance to Azerbaijan. In the last week since the attacks by Azerbaijan’s forces, approximately 200 people have been killed.
نظّم حزب الطاشناق تظاهرة، عند الساعة السادسة والربع بعد ظهر اليوم، أمام السفارة الأذربيجانية في لبنان، حيث ألقيت الهتافات والشعارات إدانةً لتعدي السلطات الأذرية على سيادة أرمينيا وشنّها أعنف الحروب على المدنيين والمناطق السكنية الأرمنية. وأدان الأمين العام لحزب الطاشناق النائب هاغوب بقرادونيان، في كلمة، الهجوم الأذربيجاني على أرمينيا، معتبرًا أنه "امتداد للإبادة الجماعية التي قامت بها تركيا بحق الشعب الأرمني". كذلك أدان "سكوت المجتمع الدولي المريب عن هذه الجريمة المشهودة مثبتين أنّ مصالحهم الخاصة في النفط والغاز أهمّ من أي قانون دولي و سيادة دول وحقوق إنسان"، متسغربًا "غياب الأحداث الأخيرة في أرمينيا في الأوساط اللبنانية والعربية".
