DRC: Syrian Refugee Emergency Response: Skills training and activities in community centers

Activities include skills training (sewing, hairdressing and beauty therapy, nursing), as well as counseling, psychological support, recreational activities for children, small scale community development projects. Four community centres are now operating in North Lebanon and Bekaa. Moreover, Community Support Projects are implemented in order to help support Lebanese hosting communities and displaced Syrians. DRC supported dispensaries with equipments, constructed playgrounds, provided electric generators and supported agriculture cooperatives.

SHEILD: Entertainment activities for Syrian Refugees Children

Enhance the social and economical conditions for Syrian householder refugees through empowering their economical capacity in south Lebanon (Tyre Caza):
1 - the social and economical conditions for prisoners are enhanced and their access to basic services is provided through civil and official entities.
2 - Involving Municipalities and non-governmental organizations engaged in philanthropic work.

SHEILD: Entertainment activities for Syrian Refugees Children

The Social Development Center in Nabatiyeh, organized in collaboration with SHEILD and UNHCR, entertainment activities for 100 Syrian refugees children residing in Nabatiyeh. Activities included clown and magic shows and ended with the distribution of gifts to the children.
The purpose of these activities is relief the suffering of Syrian refugees children and bring back their smiles.

Protection activities, working through partners to disseminate information to refugees regarding their entitlements, registration processes, how and where to access services (with information from other service providers)

Tdh: Psycho social support for children

Since October 2012, Tdh has set up a programme of psycho social support for children arriving from Syria to South Lebanon. It includes recreational activities, case management, awareness raising and training on child protection. Distribution of dignity and baby hygiene kits are as well organised.

IMC: Training on Psychological First Aid (PFA)

As for the PFA session, we’ve conducted in the Beqaa recently – over the past two months two sessions, and will be conducting sessions in the future post September period starting October 2013.

IMC: Training on Psychological First Aid (PFA)

In December 2011, IMC organized 2 day training on PFA for frontline workers in direct contact with Syrians displaced in the North. Seventeen (17) participants attended and were part of the PFA training that was conducted in the north to appease the influx of displaced Syrians. The participants were from the following organizations: (a) the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs [MOSA], (b) the Lebanese Red Cross [LRC], (c) the Danish Refugee Council [DRC], and (d) Save the Children. The training was conducted on two consecutive days (21/12/2011 and 22/12/2011).
