NNA - Four were arrested today in Bab-el-Tabbaneh in Tripoli, for arm and military items possession, National News Agency correspondent reported on Friday.

In details, the Lebanese army arrested citizen Karim Nasser Massad in Tabbaneh, for driving a car with a falsified plate.

NNA - A personal dispute erupted among a number of young people in Bab Tabbaneh's Sabeel Street, NNA reporter said on Thursday. 

Two people were injured Sunday as a personal dispute between a number of citizens in the northern city of Tripoli escalated into a shooting.

“One person was wounded in a clash between a number of young men in Bab al-Tabbaneh's Syria Street outside Tabbaneh sweets shop,” state-run National News Agency reported.

It said another man known as Abou Wadih was injured as he was being chased by army troops.

The army later issued a statement clarifying the incident.

“A personal dispute erupted between two citizens in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh area during which Khaled Issa opened fire from an assault rifle, wounding a man called Ahmed Obeida,” the statement said.

“An army force intervened immediately and imposed a security cordon around the scene,” it added, noting that “raids are underway to arrest the shooter and those involved in the incident.”

The sound of a stun grenade was heard in the vicinity of Tabbaneh's Abu Ali River banks, coupling with gunfire.

The citizen Mohammed Nasser al Manee got killed in fire trade as the army raided the area of Beddawi to arrest a wanted person on charges of killing army soldier. Instantly, army reinforcements were introduced into said scene and cordoned off the area. The army closed the road leading to said place as a precautionary measure. The corpse was taken to the government-run hospital in Qubba.

Gunmen in a speeding car opened fire at a Lebanese Army position near the northern city of Tripoli Tuesday, killing one soldier and wounding two others, a security source said. The source told The Daily Star that the soldiers were shot at close range as they stood guard at their position near the Akoumi gas station in Bedawwi at 4 a.m. The dead soldier was identified as Mohammad Khaled al-Hussein. Citizen Fawaz Bazzi received a gunshot in his leg as unidentified persons riding a motorcycle fired in his direction on Tripoli-Akkar road in Tebbeneh.
