WVi: Child Friendly Spaces

Child Friendly Spaces are being implemented for Syrian and Lebanese children based on a World Vision model and contextualised to the current context and in line with the Child Protection in Emergencies Working Group.

WVi: Educational support

World Vision has recently launched educational projects for Syrian refugee children. Over three months, 120 “out of school" children started receiving an accelerated learning programme to help enhance their educational attainment and readiness for enrollment in schools when possible. They have the chance to learn languages and other scientific courses.

DRC:Syrian Refugee Emergency Response

Protection monitoring and case management, SGBV interventions and child protection. Support to persons with special needs / extremely vulnerable individuals. Direct assistance to identified Extremely Vulnerable Individuals.

DRC: Syrian Refugee Emergency Response: Skills training and activities in community centers

Activities include skills training (sewing, hairdressing and beauty therapy, nursing), as well as counseling, psychological support, recreational activities for children, small scale community development projects. Four community centres are now operating in North Lebanon and Bekaa. Moreover, Community Support Projects are implemented in order to help support Lebanese hosting communities and displaced Syrians. DRC supported dispensaries with equipments, constructed playgrounds, provided electric generators and supported agriculture cooperatives.

SHEILD: Entertainment activities for Syrian Refugees Children

The Social Development Center in Nabatiyeh, organized in collaboration with SHEILD and UNHCR, entertainment activities for 100 Syrian refugees children residing in Nabatiyeh. Activities included clown and magic shows and ended with the distribution of gifts to the children.
The purpose of these activities is relief the suffering of Syrian refugees children and bring back their smiles.

Oxfam: Protection activities

Protection activities, working through partners to disseminate information to refugees regarding their entitlements, registration processes, how and where to access services (with information from other service providers)

FPSC: Distribution of technical aids to disabled pesons and provision of physiotherapy sessions

This activity is carried out in the framework of a regional project aiming at providing accessibility to disabled persons to public spaces and to job opportunities. The specific action described here is carried out in the previouly mentioned regions in Lebanon but also in Aleppo and in Zaatari camp in Jordan through our local partners. Specialized staff will examine the syrian refugees and provide the most suitable technical aid to cope with his physical disability. Moreover, patients will receive on average 10 physiotherapy sessions during the period of the activity.

Tdh: Psycho social support for children

Since October 2012, Tdh has set up a programme of psycho social support for children arriving from Syria to South Lebanon. It includes recreational activities, case management, awareness raising and training on child protection. Distribution of dignity and baby hygiene kits are as well organised.

AVSI: Psychosocial support

Utilizing a holistic, child centered apprach, AVSI emergency staff is providing psychosocial support and case management for most vulnerable individuals through mobile activities and outreach. About 450 children between 4 to 18 years old have been actively involved in recreational activities and 18 follow-up with a specialized team.
