Two Syrian siblings arrested in Hermel for belonging to Daesh
Lebanese Army intelligence arrested two Syrian brothers over suspected links to Daesh (ISIS), the state-run National News Agency reported Monday. M. Osman was arrested in Hermel along with his brother, identified as Mohammad, after the intelligence services received information connecting the two to smuggling rings dealing in arms and explosives. Photos of M. Osman posing with Daesh fighters were found on his cellphone. The suspect allegedly admitted to being a member of the group and said Mohammad smuggled people and weapons. The duo were referred the service’s Bekaa branch for further investigations, pending referral to the competent judiciary.
