Families of Beirut blast victims march from Gemmayzeh to the Statue of the Emigrant to demand justice and truth

Dozens protested near the Beirut port to mark 20 months since the August 4, 2020, explosion. The demonstration was organized by the families of the victims, who marched from Beirut’s Gemmayzeh neighborhood to the port to demand justice. During the march, the protesters held up portraits of their relatives who were killed by the blast, along with those of the injured. They held a sit-in at Statue of the Emigrant at the exact time of the tragedy, 6:17 p.m.

وطنية - اعلن موظفو مستشفى السان جورج  في عجلتون  أنه "منذ سنوات والمستشفى يعاني من مشاكل مادية وفقدان في المستلزمات والمعدات الطبية وبالرغم من ذلك ظل موظفو المستشفى يؤدون واجبهم الأخلاقي والإنساني بكل تفاني وإخلاص". وقالوا في بيان : "بعد تردي الأوضاع الإقتصادية في لبنان وأزمة غلاء المحروقات، بات من المستحيل على الموظفين الذين يتقادون رواتبهم على سعر صرف 1500 أن يستمروا بمزاولة عملهم".

Students demonstrate at the Lebanese American University in Beirut to protest dollarisation of tuition fees

Hundreds of Lebanese American University students held a protest yesterday on the school’s Beirut campus. The students were protesting the dollarisation of tuition fees. The changes in tuition collection were announced last week by the university’s president, Michel Elias Mawad, in an email to students and staff, and the change is set to go into effect in the Fall 2022 term.

وطنية - صيدا - نفذ عدد من أهالي موقوفي أحداث عبرا وشباب مسجد بلال بن رباح، ظهر اليوم، اعتصاما  امام مسجد الحاج بهاء الدين الحريري في صيدا، بعنوان "كفى ظلما، أطلقوا سراحهم فورا".

وألقى ابراهيم الرواس كلمة باسم الأهالي، دعا فيها إلى "وقف الظلم الذي يمارس على أهل السُّنة في لبنان"، وقال: "أوقفوا ظلمكم علينا وأطلقوا سراح الشيخ أحمد الاسير وإخوانه وجميع المشايخ والمظلومين فورا، لأن ذنبهم الوحيد هو أنهم رفضوا الظلم في لبنان والمنطقة".

بعد النشيدين الوطني ونشيد الجامعة اللبنانية، القت البروفسورة عزة سليمان باسم "جامعيون مستقلون" كلمة قالت فيها:

The Lebanese Union for People with Physical Disabilities held a protest in Riad al-Solh Square in Downtown Beirut on Wednesday, demanding an “inclusive voting process that respects diversity,” reported the state-run National News Agency. The protesters criticized the approach taken to polling station accessibility in previous elections, such as carrying people with physical disabilities up staircases, and called for a more dignified and inclusive approach, such as choosing ground floor rooms as polling stations or putting the stations in buildings with elevators.
