Fnaydeq wants arrests taking place through village notables | Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), Fnaideq Mukhtars |
NNA - Fnaydeq wants arrests of suspects by the military, to take place only through village notables rather than resorting to heavy-handedness when dealing with the people, village headmen or Mukhtars complained in their press release today. Reacting to early dawn raids and arrest of suspects carried out by the army, village headmen deplored the return to violence on both sides saying it only transpired in the wake of the involvement of certain Lebanese parties in the ongoing war in Syria. Recalling Fnaydeq's traditional loyalty to the Lebanese state and army, village headmen implored the authorities to deal with them in an equitable just fashion upon producing conclusive evidence incriminating any suspect whom they expressed readiness to hand over to the authorities. Better look for the root cause behind Fnaydeq's reaction to the involvement of certain Lebanese in the Syrian conflict rather than letting the assassins of politicians roam about freely, village headmen concluded.
