Jieh, Barja and Iqlim al-Kharroub residents infiltrated the Jieh power plant to protest electricity cuts and pollution in the area
Tens of residents of the Jieh, Barja and Iqlim al-Kharroub areas on Tuesday night infiltrated the Jieh power plant to protest electricity cuts and pollution in the area derived from the power plant, L'Orient Today's correspondent in South Lebanon reported. Protestors demanded 4 hours of electricity per day which they said they have been promised before, and expressed their concern at the black smoke coming out of the facility. One protestor told L'Orient Today "we need our right to electricity... at least we should get electricity in return for pollution or else we will prevent the supply of electricity."
