2018: First government/civil society discussions about a potential Job Loss Fund
Monday, January 1, 2018
Following the signature of the 2013 social contract by the “national dialogue” quartet a series of discussions sponsored by the International Labour Organization have been held in order to consider a Job Loss Insurance system to compensate for lay-offs. In this context, the Tunisian tripartite stakeholders (State, UGTT, UTICA) commissioned an assessment of existing lay-off and compensation mechanisms and their feasibility in Tunisia. This assessment was conducted by the ILO in 2019 (ILO 2019).
