Focus on Socio-Economic Demands

Throughout the years, various civil society actors (including collectives, campaigns, civil society organisations, workers groups, residents, etc.) have mobilised in Lebanon around human-rights based demands, notably highlighting issues relevant to access to socio-economic rights. 

Since October 17, 2019, protests have been ongoing, in a previously unseen scale, demanding access to socio-economic rights, notably, as well as accountability, and a political and systemic change in the country.

Lebanon Support produced this infographic that visualises the main socio-economic grievances of these protests, showing the role civil society can play in reaching a just and sustainable society, and in advocating for universal human rights including socio-economic rights. It also highlights the linkages and continuum that exist between associative forms and broader social movements, thus stressing on the importance of open and inclusive, democratic, and free civic spaces. 

This visual is produced as part of the CPDE Global Day of Action Against Shrinking Civic Spaces, on the occasion of the Human Rights’ International Day.

إضاءة على المطالب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية

خلال السنين الماضية، تحرّكت الجهات الفاعلة في المجتمع المدني (بما في ذلك تجمّعات وحملات ومنظمات ومجموعات العمال والمواطنين وغيرهم) من أجل مطالب مبنيّة على حقوق الإنسان وخصوصًا القضايا المتعلّقة بالحصول على الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية

تتواصل الاحتجاجات في لبنان منذ ١٧تشرين الأوّل/أكتوبر ٢٠١٩ في انتشار جغرافي غير مسبوق، للمطالبة بالوصول إلى الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، بالإضافة إلى المطالبة بالمساءلة وبتغيير في النظام والسياسة في البلاد

أصدر مركز دعم لبنان هذا الرسم البياني الذي يظهر المطالب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الأساسية في هذه التحركات ليوضح الدور الذي يمكن أن يؤدّيه المجتمع المدني في خلق عالم عادل ومستدام وفي المناصرة من أجل حقوق الإنسان العالمية بما في ذلك الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. كما يسلّط هذا الرسم البياني الضوء على الروابط والاستمرارية بين قطاع الجمعيّات على أشكالها المتنوّعة والتحركات الاجتماعية، وبالتالي تؤكد على أهمية وجود فضاء عام منفتح وشامل وديمقراطي وحرّ

تمّ انتاج هذا الرسم البياني كجزء من اليوم العالمي للعمل ضدّ تقليص الفضاء العام الذي أطلقته شراكة من أجل فعّالية التنمية  بمناسبة اليوم العالمي لحقوق الإنسان (CPDE)
