A number of residents in Khiam in the Nabatieh area carried out a sit-in in front of the municipality building there “to object to the high cost of the unjustified generator subscription bills.” Protestors expressed their anger at “the lack of transparency by the generator committee.” The protesters raised banners asking the municipality to consider the situation of people suffering from economic hardship, stressing that generator bills have exceeded what is reasonable, and that the municipality should be in the service of the people. They also called on the Economy Ministry to “move urgently and control hiking prices in shops and supermarkets.”

وطنية - مرجعيون - نفذ عدد من اهالي بلدة الخيام وقفة احتجاجية، امام مبنى البلدية، "اعتراضا على ارتفاع كلفة فاتورة اشتراك المولدات غير المبررة"، وعبروا عن إستيائهم من "غياب الشفافية من قبل لجنة المولدات". ورفع الاهالي يافطات تطالب البلدية بالنظر بوضع الناس في هذه الأيام الصعبة وتؤكد ان فاتورة الاشتراك قد تخطت المعقول، وانه من المفروض أن يكون الاشتراك التابع للبلدية في خدمة البلد واهلها وان لا يبغى الربح. كما طالب الاهالي وزارة الاقتصاد بـ"التحرك العاجل لضبط الأسعار المتفلتة في المحال التجارية والسوبرماركات بسبب وجود فروقات واضحة بين متجر وآخر في نفس البلدة".
