Protesters block roads in front of An-Nahar after security forces tried to reopen them

Internal Security Forces opened up roads near Martyrs’ Square Tuesday morning, angering protesters on the 104th day of the nationwide protests. ISF personnel removed metal barriers set up in the square located in the heart of Beirut, leaving the roads open for cars to pass through. A group of protesters however blocked the roads once again with garbage canisters and other material found nearby. These roads have been blocked by the ISF since October when the countrywide demonstrations against the ruling class broke out. Tents set up by protesters since then are still erected in Martyrs' Square. Roads leading to Riad al-Solh Square remain blocked by metal barriers and cement walls erected by security forces.
