Ante-Disappearance Data Collection
The objective is to collect information on persons who went missing during the armed conflicts in Lebanon since 1975 through interviews with their families. Details about the missing that could help in identification - including personal data, physical description, dental history, clothing, circumstances of disappearance - are recorded and stored by the ICRC on behalf of the Lebanese authorities. The information will remain confidential until the authorities establish a national mechanism with the humanitarian objective to clarify the fate of the missing. Only then will the ICRC hand over the data to the mechanism to facilitate and accelerate its work. Since 2012, over 2300 interviews have been conducted across the country.
