Conflicts, abuses, repression, and human rights violations always leave a bitter taste when proper mourning to achieve personal or communal healing is cutoff by indifference, and politics of amnesia.

International law clearly recognises the right of victims and survivors to know about the circumstances of serious violations of their human rights and about who was responsible for their suffering.

ABAAD: Information meeting with families and wives/mothers of the disappeared

ABAAD as partners of 'ACT for the Disappeared' will be taking part in a series of information meetings to be held at the community-based level to introduce women relatives of the disappeared and their families (among other things) on the gender cost of disappearence and seek to find solutions that would affect their lives as women.
