Watch and Change: Citizenship Education

Lebanese Centre for Civic Education (LCCE) worked on the project Watch and Change in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Educational Centre for Research and Development (CERD), forumZFD and Step Away. The collaboration produced 6 interactive documentaries and a teaching manual focusing on human rights education. LCCE used the teaching manual and Bahij Hjej’ series of documentaries ‘Kidnapped,’ portraying personal experiences of the civil war, in training and capacity development sessions targeting schoolteachers. Their objective was to raise awareness among the youth on the memory of the civil war as an extension of citizenship and human rights education, reaching 40 teachers in various schools across the country until now.
